What are the requirements needed for ancestry checking? How do we start and what are other information needed?

If you are only interested in your DNA ancestry then look into 23andme and ancestry.com for their testing kits that only look into ancestry. Do not choose the testing kits that mention health if that is not what you are interested in.

Usually it’s a simple swab of your cheek or a sample of your saliva

Thank you for this information! I will check 23andme and ancestry.com for their testing kit and other information.

Consider that while ancestry testing is cheaper, if at some time point you want to test your genes for “health” features/phenotypes, you will have to pay for both ancestry and health, even if you already paid for ancestry.
