Omics Help Desk
If you have genetic or omics data, have a health question, and are a registered user, then click the button to Get a Report and ask our health scientists to study your data and answer your questions!

Omics Help Desk connects omics researchers (customers) who have a genetic or omics questions, or have health, genome, fitness, omics data, with scientists (health data scientist) who help them decide on the best omics services or tools to use to answer a health or lifestyle question and help them analyze their data once they have results.
Customers post a project requesting consultation or data analysis services from Health Data Scientists by choosing the “Get Help” option.
Health Data Scientists apply to projects using credits. Health Data Scientists create a consultant business Stripe account, if they don’t have one already, to receive payments. They can advertise their services in online media by posting their dashboard link. Health Data Scientists, are vetted on a per-person basis through their affiliation to a university or academic/clinical lab and the number of scientific publications they have co-authored in the omics domain.
Customers can monitor each new candidate and carefully select the one that best fits each question or project on their dashboard. From there they can also select the winning candidate and initiate the omics consultation. As soon as the consultation terms are agreed the project starts.
Transactions between parties are secured through an Escrow process and guaranteed for each party, including the site owners’ fee. This fee is 20% of the project agreed budget.
Two Type of Projects
Consultation
In order to get advice or selecting the best omics service for a particular purpose (e.g. 23andme, Ancestry, Veritas, Nebula, Thryve, etc for genome sequencing) or estimate the cost-time investment to fulfill a data analysis project, the customer may want to pay for a short no-data consultation. For computer savvy customers, they may be directed to an online DIY tutorial or free software saving him or her the cost of outsourcing the data analysis work.
Data Analysis Project
The customer submits a data analysis project and includes adequate datasets and research descriptions to help a data scientist determine if this is a project that matches their skills. These types of “projects” require the use of computer analytics and scientific research that looks into the most recent scientific health discoveries.

Omics Model of Health
A well established model of health is represented by this equation:
Exposome * (Epi/Meta)Genome = Phenome
Exposome, are the things we are exposed to that can create health risks. The Exposome interacts with our genes (Genome, Epigenome and Genotypes) and also our Metagenome, the genes of the microbes that live in our bodies. The Phenome and phenotypes are the observed outcomes, such as an observed disease, a symptom, a physical change such as weight loss, or a mental state like depression or joy. Omics covers all three concepts of the equation.
