Privacy concerns with Genome Sequencing

I would like to know more about how the privacy of those who receive these tests is ensured. I feel as though this should be treated with an even higher standard than the patient to doctor confidentiality in that no one other than the lab and the person receiving such a test should know the results and they should later be disposed of by the lab.

I have my concerns. Are their legal actions I should look into to ensure my information stays protected prior to getting any tests done?
